The Greatest Journey

The Greatest Journey

For a moment lost in translation,

the heart goes into depression

as meaningless words struggle to make an impression.

The words that fall into empty spaces

between you and I

Are as cowardly as my courage and your lies.

The words crawl back into my mouth

covered in filth, looking uncouth.

And the journey begins again

of one that is filled with great pain.

And as they linger about in contemplation,

I am afraid

If they will ever reach their destination.

But I know it in my heart

that the journey is more important than the end or the start.

And so, they wash of the stain

and embark again

On the greatest journey mankind has ever taken.
